A funded futures account lets you trade a prop firm's capital on ES, NQ and other futures. You usually pass an evaluation first, then trade within a max drawdown and request payouts under the firm's rules.
Evaluation vs instant funding
| Route | How it works | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Evaluation | Hit a profit target within rules | Cheaper, but you must pass first |
| Instant funding | Trade funded from day one | Higher price, often stricter rules |
More on both: how to get a funded trading account and instant funding prop firms.
The rules that matter
- Drawdown type — trailing, EOD or static. See static vs trailing drawdown.
- Consistency rules — limits on how much one day can count. See prop firm consistency rule.
- Payout rules — minimum days, caps and splits. See how long prop firm payouts take.
- Contract limits and news restrictions.

Keeping the account
Most traders lose funded accounts to oversizing, not bad analysis. Trade small, protect the drawdown and work from planned locations. My daily ES & NQ orderflow levels share the levels I prepare each day — context, not trade signals.
