Topstep Pricing & Fees in 2026
What the Trading Combine actually costs per month, what the extras add on top, and how that compares with one-time-fee firms once you count resets.

New to funded futures trading? See the full ranked comparison of the best futures prop firms — drawdown type, payout speed and real withdrawal proof for every firm I trade.
Read the ranked guideDisclosure: Topstep is not a SATO Trades partner and I earn nothing if you buy there — this page is objective coverage. The alternative firms I mention (FundedNext, Tradeify, Apex) are partners, and code SATO may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices and promos change constantly; Topstep's own pricing page is the final word.
Topstep charges a monthly subscription, not a one-time evaluation fee — roughly $49 for the $50K, $99 for the $100K and $149 for the $150K Trading Combine at list price, with promos rotating through the year. That means your real cost is the monthly price × the number of months you take to pass, plus resets and market data. Traders who pass fast pay very little; traders fighting the daily loss limit for four months pay several times what a discounted one-time evaluation elsewhere would have cost.
Topstep pricing by account size
These are the list prices for the Trading Combine as advertised in 2026. Topstep discounts them regularly, so treat the column as a ceiling rather than a fixed number — and always verify on Topstep's own checkout before buying.
| Account | List price | Drawdown | Daily loss limit | Profit target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50,000 Combine | ~$49 / month | $2,000 trailing | $1,000 daily loss limit | $3,000 profit target |
| $100,000 Combine | ~$99 / month | $3,000 trailing | $2,000 daily loss limit | $6,000 profit target |
| $150,000 Combine | ~$149 / month | $4,500 trailing | $3,000 daily loss limit | $9,000 profit target |

Prefer a one-time evaluation fee?
Tradeify charges once per evaluation instead of billing you every month, uses an end-of-day drawdown and pays daily once you clear the threshold. Code SATO gets the best available discount.
Subscription vs one-time fee: the maths that matters
This is the single most useful thing on this page. A monthly model and a one-time model are not comparable at sticker price — they are comparable per funded account.
$99/month on the $100K becomes ~$396 if you take four months, before resets. Traders underestimate this because month one feels cheap.
A discounted evaluation at a partner firm is a single charge per attempt. Two attempts on a promo-priced account often still costs less than three Topstep months.
Whatever the model, the number of attempts is decided by whether the drawdown and daily loss limit match how you trade. Fit reduces cost far more than any coupon.
If you are not sure which drawdown model suits your strategy, read static vs trailing drawdown before spending anything. And if price alone is your constraint, my cheapest prop firms breakdown ranks firms on cost per funded account rather than headline discount.

Worked example: what a realistic funding run costs
Take a trader on the $100K Combine who trades two micro contracts, gets stopped out by the daily loss limit twice in the first month, resets once, and passes in month three.
- 3 × monthly subscription at ~$99
- 1 × reset fee
- Market data once funded
- Roughly $350–$400 to first funded day
- 1–2 promo-priced evaluations
- No daily loss limit on core plans, so fewer forced stops
- No monthly clock pressuring you to overtrade
- Typically well under the Topstep total
Notice what did the damage: not the price, the daily loss limit. Two ended days turned a one-month pass into a three-month bill. That is the argument for choosing on rules first, price second.
Is Topstep worth it at this price?
Honest verdict: Topstep is a legitimate, long-running firm with a real payout history — I say the same in my Topstep review and in is Topstep legit. The price is defensible if you pass quickly and value the track record.
It stops being good value when the rules force repeat months. If the daily loss limit has already cost you two evaluations, the fix is not a discount code — it is a firm without one. My Topstep alternatives guide ranks the seven I would actually move to, and Topstep vs Apex covers the most common switch head to head.

Topstep Pricing FAQ
How much does Topstep cost per month in 2026?+
Topstep's Trading Combine is billed as a monthly subscription that scales with account size — roughly $49/month for the $50K, $99/month for the $100K and $149/month for the $150K at list price, with promotional discounts rotating throughout the year. Because it recurs monthly rather than being a one-time evaluation fee, your true cost is the monthly price multiplied by how many months you take to pass. Always confirm current pricing on Topstep's own site before buying.
Is Topstep a one-time fee or a subscription?+
A subscription. Unlike firms that charge a single evaluation fee with a free reset window, Topstep bills every month while your Combine is active. That structure is fine if you pass quickly and expensive if you need three or four months.
How much is a Topstep reset?+
Resets are charged separately from your subscription and are usually cheaper than waiting out a month. The catch is behavioural: cheap resets encourage re-entering a bad account instead of fixing the process that broke it.
Are there hidden fees at Topstep?+
Nothing dishonest, but there are costs beyond the headline price: market data once funded, any paid platform or charting add-ons you choose, and ongoing account fees where they apply. Budget for total cost of ownership, not just the sticker price of month one.
Is Topstep more expensive than other prop firms?+
Usually yes on a per-month basis, because most competitors run heavy promotional discounts on one-time evaluation fees. Apex in particular is routinely far cheaper per account during promos, which is why traders running multiple accounts rarely choose Topstep for volume.
Does Topstep have discount codes?+
Topstep runs its own periodic promotions, but it is not a SATO Trades partner so I have no code for it. Code SATO gets the best available discount at FundedNext, Tradeify and Apex, and my prop firm discount codes page tracks what is currently live.
What is the real cost of getting funded at Topstep?+
Multiply the monthly fee by the number of months you realistically need, then add resets. A trader who passes in month one pays around one subscription; a trader who takes four months with two resets can spend five to six times that. Rules fit matters more than price because it decides how many months you need.
Is Topstep worth the price?+
If you want a long-established operator with a documented payout history and you trade comfortably inside a daily loss limit, yes. If your strategy needs intraday recovery room, you will pay for months you did not need to spend — a firm without a daily loss limit is cheaper in practice even at a similar sticker price.
What are cheaper Topstep alternatives?+
FundedNext Futures, Tradeify and Apex Trader Funding all use one-time evaluation fees with frequent promotions, and none of the three applies a hard daily loss limit on their core plans. I compare all of them in my Topstep alternatives guide.
Do I keep paying Topstep after I pass?+
You stop paying the Combine subscription, but funded-stage costs such as market data and any applicable account fees continue. Factor those into your monthly break-even before you size up.
