The short answer

On a Topstep Express Funded Account you choose a payout path. Standard: 5 winning days of $150+, up to $5,000 per request. Consistency: 3 winning days plus a 40% consistency rule, up to $6,000 per request. The profit split is 90/10.

Which payout path suits you?

The Standard path suits traders who make many small, steady green days. The Consistency path pays after fewer days but asks that no single day dominates your profit, so it suits traders with even results.

If you tend to have one big day and several small ones, the Consistency rule can delay you. The evaluation also has its own 55% best-day rule — see my Topstep rules guide.

How to request a Topstep payout

  1. Trade your Express Funded Account until you meet your path's winning-day requirement.
  2. Open the payout section of your Topstep dashboard.
  3. Request an amount within the cap and within your available profit.
  4. Wait for Topstep's review and processing.

Remember that every withdrawal lowers the cushion above your loss limit. Many traders keep a buffer early on.

Topstep payouts vs other firms

Payout rules are one of the biggest differences between prop firms. Before buying, compare caps, winning-day rules and drawdown in my best futures prop firms ranking, or look at Topstep's pricing to see the full cost.

Topstep Payout FAQ

How do Topstep payouts work?+

Once you have an Express Funded Account (XFA), you qualify for a payout by meeting the winning-day requirement of your payout path. You then request a withdrawal from your dashboard, subject to that path's cap.

How many winning days does Topstep require for a payout?+

On the Standard path, Topstep's help pages (checked September 27, 2026) list 5 winning days of at least $150. The Consistency path lists 3 winning days combined with a 40% consistency requirement.

What is the maximum Topstep payout?+

Topstep listed a cap of up to $5,000 per request on the Standard path and up to $6,000 on the Consistency path. Caps can change, so check the current help center.

What is Topstep's profit split?+

Topstep lists a 90/10 split, with 90% going to the trader.

How long do Topstep payouts take?+

Processing time depends on the payout method and Topstep's review. Check Topstep's help center for current timings rather than relying on third-party claims.

Does the consistency rule affect payouts?+

Yes, on the Consistency path. The evaluation also has a 55% best-day rule. My Topstep rules guide explains both.

Can I withdraw my whole Topstep balance?+

Not in one request. Each payout is limited by your path's cap, and withdrawing reduces the buffer above your loss limit.

Is Topstep's payout process legit?+

Topstep is a long-running futures prop firm with a published payout policy. My honest review and 'is Topstep legit' check cover the details. I'm not a Topstep partner.

Should I keep a buffer instead of withdrawing everything?+

Many funded traders leave some profit in the account so one bad day doesn't end it. It's a risk choice, not a rule.

Which firms pay out faster than Topstep?+

Payout speed and rules vary by firm and change often. Compare current rules in my best futures prop firms ranking before buying.
